Michael Yan

michael_yanI am so excited about the TBBREC global initiative! As a bilingual of American English and Mandarin, both in terms of the languages and the cultures, I work with real estate investors, sponsors and property owners on both sides of the Pacific. And my biggest challenge has to be filling a huge gap caused by misunderstanding and differences in expectations.

We’ve all heard stories of how wealthy Chinese travel around the world, scooping up investments and luxury goods in the fashion you and I shop for groceries. It may seem that they have been making good profits while providing the destination countries much needed capital to revitalize their economy.

The reality is that many of these investments suffer from mismanagement, losses, and worse: urban blight — exactly like Theresa pointed out. This initiative came just in time when such effort is in dire need. One of the biggest components needed to fill the gap I described above is the legitimate education these foreign investors need in order to succeed in an environment they haven’t made fortunes in. I look forward to working with Theresa and her Advisors!
